Meal Delivery Driver

Objective

to deliver meals to individuals who are elderly or disabled in their own home

Responsibilities

  • Pick up carrier of meals at the meal site.
  • Follow route directions, deliver meals to assigned homebound people.
  • Be friendly and cheerful-you may be the only person that they see all day
  • Return the carrier to the meal site.
  • Report to the program coordinator any problems, unusual situations or major changes obseved (health needs, safety conditions, sanitation, depression, confusion, ect..)
  • call coordinator if unable to deliver

Qualifications

  • your own vehicle or use of a vehicle ( in some cases the route can be accomplished without a vehicle)
  • Valid drivers license
  • valid auto insurance
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Knowledge and observance of traffic rules and laws

Time Commitment

  • Deliver once a week or as arranged by the coordinator
  • Deliveries are one hour between 11AM and 1PM on weekdays.  Some Weekend deliveries are available.
  • one semester commitment
