Brattleboro Senior Meals currently supports five regular staff members.
Executive Director Christine McAvoy has been involved with the Meals on Wheels program in Brattleboro since November of 1997. With a backround in Human Services, Chris has worked with many populations as a Therapist, an Activities Director and teacher. Coordinating the Meals on Wheels program was a new challenge for her and working closely with Ronnie Friedman from The Council on Aging, she developed and expanded the program that currently exists today. She was instrumental in directing the move to separate from The Council on Aging and become Brattleboro Senior Meals.
Marie E. Willette joined us in March of 2009 as Head Cook and Kitchen Manager. She comes to us with a strong backround in quantity cooking and kitchen management, most recently with Fitz, Vogt and Associates. Her experience in cooking for a variety of populations and strong educational backround makes her a perfect candidate to lead the Senior Meal Program into new culinary experiences.
Chris Stone joined BSM as Assistant Cook in August, 2011. His career in food service began in 1988, as a pizza maker/grill cook at Papa Gino’s in his hometown of Claremont, NH. Other positions he has held include dishwasher at Sargent Camp in Hancock, NH, General Manager at Grappelli’s in Peterborough, NH, Lead Cook at Cheshire Medical Center and Chef at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
The Meals on Wheels program has been a part of Chris’s professional, and personal, life. His great grandparents, Elsie and Roy, shared their Meals on Wheels meals with him when times were tough. At both Cheshire Medical Center and BMH, he cooked and packaged the meals. With his great grandparents never far from mind, he feels he comes full circle at BSM.
Susan Campbell worked for Wendy’s as a dishwasher before she joined BSM as a Kitchen Aide. She shares the position with Erica Robinson who worked for Tristan Toleno at the Riverview Restaurant.
BSM also utilizes substitute employees on a per diem basis to fill in when regular staff members are on vacation or ill.
