About BSM

Brattleboro Senior Meals, Inc. is a nonprofit food service organization that assumes the responsibility of meals preparation and distribution for the over 60 and disabled population of the Greater Brattleboro Area in accordance with the guidelines of the Older Americans Act. Brattleboro Senior Meals (BSM) is funded through the Federal Government, The State of Vermont, Local Municipalities, Participant Donations, Grants and Fund Raising.

Formerly a program of The Council of Aging for Southeastern Vermont (COASEVT), BSM became independent in 2004 and currently runs senior meal programs for the Greater Brattleboro Area out of The Brattleboro Senior Center. The BSC is located at 207 Main Street in Brattleboro in the lowest level of The Gibson Aiken Building.  The Brattleboro Senior Center has been located in this facility since the late 1970’s.  BSM shares the space with the Recreation Department and Senior Advocates from the Council on Aging to provide a large range of services for the elderly.

Currently BSM serves over 42,000 meals a year. Over half of these meals are delivered through our Meals on Wheels Program.  The rest are served in our congregate dining program which runs 5 days a week at the Brattleboro Senior Center or delivered to The Gathering Place, an Adult Day Care Center in Brattleboro.
